ElkRP locks up when saving to database

I upgraded to the latest version of ElkRP and things were working fine... I saved successfully several times over about 30 minutes. Then when I was trying to reorder my comments in the rules section I clicked the Save toolbar button and ElkRP locked up on me. It showed the "Please Wait", "Saving account information..." window, but soon after the window shows "Not Responding" and I have to kill the process.


After killing the ElkRP process I can run it again and load my account info. I can even change the Account Details info and save without a problem. But if I open a rule and click 'Done' (whether I change the rule or not), then click Save, it locks up the same way.

Any ideas?

I was able to get around the issue by exporting the account and then reimporting it.


HOWEVER I lost several of my comments

Hopefully nothing else is missing.

Ugh! Now it's locking up again... I was just added the comments back in (and saving of course).

I restored from my pre-upgrade backup and I then received the rules from the elk but it's still locking up when saving. I am able to send the rules to the elk fine, but saving them locking it up in the "Saving account information..." window. Even the little animation in the window stops.

ElkRP will lockup when saving after editing a rule even without connecting to the Elk M1.

I loaded one of the prepackaged example accounts and was able to save correctly.

Do you have another PC to try it on?

I put my elkRP db on a share drive so I can use it from any PC; at least that would ensure it's ElkRP, not some other software collision.

Yes, I observed this effect also with the older ElkRP-version 1.6.10. Now I have all my PCs upgraded with the actual version 1.6.22. My workaround was and is: export the account before saving it. I'll watch for this freezing while saving ...

I actually just created a new account and did a "Receive All" from the M1 and so far so good.

The things that I notice that are missing are:
Account details
Rule Comments

Anyone know what else is stored in the DB and not in the M1 that would be missing?

Request from the ELKRP Guru:

Account details & rule comments are the ONLY items stored in the database and not in the control. Please email us an export of the account that messed up (if he still has one) with instructions to replicate the lockup issue.

I have had this same issue for months. I just haven't had time to post about it!

The same issues occurs even when I upgraded to the latest RP version.

If you need any more specific information, let me know.
