ElmRms + Weather how to?

Hi,
I searched the forum and didn't quite find how to use
ElmRms to extract a weather picture off a web site.

I followed the manual and used the video capture as
image from elmrms. The problem is that it will always
display a blank page or image resolution too high warning,
say from
weather
What am I doing wrong?
Can anyone point me to the right direction?

Thanks.

I haven't tried this with ElkRMS yet, but with ElkRM, it was just a matter of adding it as a video source. Did you have it working in ElkRM before? What's the exact image you are trying to link?

Hi Dan,

I haven't used ElkRM. But according to the manuals of the ElkRM and ElkRMS,
both instructions are exactly the same.
I was just trying to get an image off a weather web site.
As per instruction, I did add it as a video source and just a blank page
(error in image resolution) came out.

Would you mind share the way how you did it in Elkrm?

Thanks.

This is what I did in ElkRms under VIDEO

Created a folder by the name "Weather".
Under the folder Weather,

Camera Type: CUSTOM
Camear Name Todays' Forecast
IP ADDRESS/URP: http://theweathernetwork.com

Camera stream type: Update interval:
Image Capture Just get 1 image

After all these, a blank white page is seen under Elmrms ( Video -> Weather -> Today's Forecast)

I am interested in what others are doing with the Elmrm or ElmRms in terms of getting weather using
the Video button.

Thanks.

Try putting the following in as your URL:

http://www.theweathernetwork.com/common/ma..._all_all_en.jpg

The step you missed was to use your PC to access the website, then right click on the weather image, and select Properties. In the case the image was a .jpg and the resolution was 430 x 290. Copy and paste that link as your URL and ElkRm will go get that still image and then refresh it at the rate you select.

Thanks and it works. I thought it was just an image capture of the web site.
Instead, this is simply getting an image off a web site.

Thanks :)
