Email notifier board

I have two emailnotifier boards in different houses using gmail accounts. And they both quit working in the last two weeks or so just as JonW described above. Hopefully a firmware upgrade will help. The last message was sent 6/20.

I'm not so sure it's limited to Gmail now.  I just did a test on a local SMTP server that uses port 25 and no SSL/TLS and I still couldn't get the Omni Notifier board to send a message (but using a SMTP test app on the local LAN works just fine).

I've been using Gmail and it's still working.
I got text that my trees are being watered just now.

I have 6 boards in the field and all alerts stopped on 6/22. The alerts starting working again on 6/27/16.
I have been using gmail on port 465.

My two email notifier boards just started to work this morning, 6/28! I have made no changes in the Google email server settings.

I went to my google security settings and toggle the access for less secure apps button off then back on. Then tested emai was received. Notifications stopped on 6/22/16. Maybe this will work for y'all as well.

Ditto, add me to the list.  Notifications started working again this morning with no additional intervention on my part.  Weird.

what is the best account to avoid problem with the notifier board?
 
now i have 1.5 firmware... can i downgrade with an older firmware? could be useful?

One of my 2 Email Notifiers using Gmail stopped working on July 1. The other one is still working. Curious.

Have three of these Omni SometimesNotifiers in the field, plus one at my own home and all are configured identically and running FW v1.5... one works sporadically, one works reliably, and two don't work at all.  :angry2:
 
Other than HomeSeer, does anyone know of any non-Leviton solutions for enabling e-mail notifications?

My notifier board worked for a year with firmware 1.3... Now with 1.5 i have problems... Can i downgrade at 1.3?

The issue doesn't seem to be related to GMAIL as often as it seems related to a mix of boards that are just simply unreliable.  The alternative of course being a serial to TCP/IP device (serial over Ethernet);   I was actually hoping Leviton would fix the issue themselves rather than forcing us to look at other (more reliable) manufacturers.  If you reboot your system after every message, which can be done for example as a UPB command, it is likely the email notifier will send every message on those systems that are unreliable.

Maybe I'm the outlier but my email board has worked flawlessly with the latest firmware and has never not worked. I've never had to reboot it, and it must send 5 or 6 emails a week, give or take. I don't use Gmail, but just use my own email on my domain provider, so I'm not sure you can blame all your problems on the board.
