Exterior Temperature Gauge? With and without stand alone system.

I'm looking for a thermostat that will record the outside temperature and that can be viewed on different devices. As of right now I do not have a controller(either HAI or Crestron), but I'd like one to use this device now, but then able to connect to either system. Is this possible? Or is there one cheap enough that I could just have as an extra or give it to my parents when I get a controller?

Here's a pretty good resource that links to all sorts of different available weather stations.

Another option available - I use wunderground.com to populate devices around me - I don't need my own weather station; it pulls from another one in my neighborhood.

Work2Play - when you say here, you mean the community right? Thanks for wunderground.com I'll take a look. I've been on a long time lurker, but finally started posting as I'm finally doing an addition on my house and will have a lot of walls open just waiting for cables.

Oops - I forgot to add the link!

They have lots of weather stations and info - most have some sort of interface. You can also check some of the software makers (CQC, Elve, HomeSeer, etc) to see which weather stations they support if any to get a feel for the more integration friendly ones.

If you just want to have a low cost temperature monitor and recorder, you could just buy a webcontrol board and a DS18B20 sensor. In the webcontrol section, you can find the free logger software to record. I do not think webcontrol board work with HAI or Crestron, though.
