Gate Openers

Ok, so I have a Mighty Mule FM200 Single Swing Gate Opener that I'm getting ready to have installed. I got the solar panel, battery, and keypad for Christmas. My stupid question is this: do I have to have a 2nd keypad installed INSIDE the gate in order to reopen it?

My father, brother, and boyfriend are going to do the install (they may not know that part yet), but if I need another keypad, I want to get it beforehand so they can do it all at once. Anybody use these things and know?

Typically there a few ways to open a gate from the inside, a second keypad, an optical beam or a wire loop cut into the pavement with a loop detector module.

Depending on what functionality you are looking for you could do any of the above.

What keypad are you using?

Edit:

I looked at the keypad in the manual. Are you referring to the key chain (fob) keypad that comes with the unit?

You can hook up a vehicle sensor inside the gate to open it when you leave.
Otherwise you will need a keypad or a button (not secure) to open the gate to exit.

Hmm, I like the idea of the 'exit wand' for visitors being able to get out but another keypad is going to be the cheapest way to go. I've got this keypad already:

so I think it'll be easiest to just buy another one of those. Is that all I actually need? 2 keypads, the opener itself, solar panel, and battery?
