GE350CX smoke detectors

I am looking to retrofit a smoke detector into my setup. House was prewired with 120v smokes w/ 9v backup. A search seems to point me to the GE 350CX as the model I would need to retrofit with my elk Panel.

However, I can't find this anywhere. Is there a new model? Can someone link me with where I can buy this or an equivalent model?

Thanks,
Peter

Any dealer that carries GE security products can order this, otherwise just do a google search. I've got one and it works well. Be careful integrating 120V wired smokes into your security system.

Potential Problems:

1) Electrical code. Make sure your LV wiring insulation is up to snuff and that the spacing between high and low voltage wires meets local code.
2) Reliability/False Alarms. Many cheapo builder-grade smokes involve some kind of ionization detector or are built with a tendency to false easily. Most 12VDC smokes have strong algorithms built in to help prevent false alarms.

I like having hard-wired smokes in all the bedrooms, living areas, etc, for life safety when I am in the house. When I am gone I prefer to rely on 1 12vdc detector on each floor to prevent false alarms. Just a preference.
