It peeves me that Apple left our RTSP... Windows Mobile has this function built-in and does not require anything special and has for a long time. I can stream my camera to my Windows Mobile phone just fine with the software it comes with.
apple does not allow rtsp streaming at this time so mpg4/h264 is out. even for the mjpg it was a nightmare to get it on the store. they wanted to limit the time on cellular and we had to work with them for months to get around this and allow indefinite streaming on cellular. most other vidcam apps on the store stop at about 2 minutes on cellular if you try them.
Apple does not support RTSP but the audio stream is from my camera is PCM (as are many) so maybe you'd be able to pull it out separate from the MJPEG stream?
There are many iPhone/iPod apps that do video only and they are very cheap ($5-$10) and work very well. Considering you all use the same Apple SDK - thus the same methods, I'm interested in what would show a cost justification of 5x to 10x the cost of the other apps? I'm not trying to be confrontational, just curious as to if I'm missing something... I figured you had audio and that was the differentiation justifying the cost but it is not.
thx
