It depends on what moisture you are wanting to measure. Normally you want to put the sensor at the root level of the plant you are wanting to monitor the moisture of.
It you are planning on burying the sensor then you have the correct one. If you are not monitoring a specific plant then I would bury it about 1' deep or deeper to try to minimize the effect of the air temperature on the readings.
