HAI ELK Temperature Sensor Compatibility

Hi all,

I need to monitor outdoor temperatures beyond 120 degrees.  I don't know of an HAI sensor that goes beyond 120.  I gave googled and found an Elk M1ZTS that goes to 140 and the M1TS that seems to go to 150 but doubt ELK is compatible with the HAI.
Would appreciate any thoughts on whether the ELK will work or any other products that might work.

Not that I know of.

That said the OmniPro Omni-link document states that you can read up to 189.5 ° F and 87.5 ° C.

Temperatures in HAI controllers are specified in the Omni temperature format. This format allows a temperature span of -40.0 to +87.5 degC (-40.0 to +189.5 degF) to be specified with 0.5 degC resolution in a single byte. Each Omni temperature "degree" is 0.5 degC, with 0 corresponding to -40 degC (-40 degF) and 255 corresponding to +87.5 degC (+189.5 degF).

I utilize 1-wire sensors in the attic and have seen the attic temperature sensors go up pretty high.  Testing with a RPi2 lately.

Maxim specifications are
  • Measures Temperatures from -55°C to +125°C (-67°F to +257°F)
  • ±0.5°C Accuracy from -10°C to +85°C

It's been a while here and only have these sensors in place inside and outside.

and one of these connected to my Omnistat2

Specifications show this one's limit to 120 ° F.  Wonder if it would read over 120 ° F.  It is for water though.

Thanks Pete, I put an ER indoor/outdoor  (31A00-7) in my attic.  Got up to 118 the other day so I expect this summer will certainly be much more.  Based on what you said even though the spec says 120 max I expect it might read higher.  Will wait and see.  Thanks for the other alternatives in case it doesn't work. Much appreciated

Jim
