Need 6 sourses and about 8 rooms both will do it. Any advantage to each? Any other systems I should look at. Speakers are home run at this point. The house this is going in will have a HAI system in it so it seems simple. But I know russound is the name brand.

I just installed a Nuvo Grand Concerto. The thing that I like about the system is the led keypads. Each speaker home runs back to the receiver and a cat 5 for each keypad. Setup is very easy and tech support is great. In the upcoming months I will be integrating the nuvo with my Omni Pro II.

Here is the link to the Nuvo site:

I have the HAI Hi-Fi hooked to my Omni Pro II and it is working well for me. Not as much power output as some sustems but more than enough to fill up my house. If you have a need to blast away in a large area, you can route some of the outputs to a supplemental amp as big as you want. I think the HAI Hi-Fi is a Nuvo product packaged to HAI spec's.

Ask the installer for a look at the HAI system, installed.

I've never seen the HAI Hi Fi system, but on a webpage it looks kind of lacking.

Do you have 8 ohm speakers, as most people do? Or are they 4 ohm? HAI Hi Fi specs state 10W/channel with 8 ohm speakers.

The Russound C-Series would be the Russound system of choice, IMHO. Take a good look at the Nuvo GC, though.

Both Russound and Nuvo GC mate well with the HAI, from what I've read.

Metadata (song info) at the keypads was a requirement when I was shopping around. Systems from Nuvo and Russound both have this. I chose the Nuvo GC, and I'm strongly considering an HAI install.

The C-Series is the newest offering from Russound, and I'm guessing they'll be phasing out the CAV and CAM systems, though maybe someone else who is more educated on the subject will chime in.

The thing is most of my source will be a itunes pc or pandura (internet radio) all of which the fancy keypad does no good for me, I think. The Nuvo site want' to clear on what there keypad intergrated with. For I tunes I can control it from my iphone as well. I looked at the Nuvo GC and although it looks nice it is also 3x the cost. I don't mind spending money but don't want to waste money. I can see my outdoor speakers needing more power.

For whatever system you choose, you can power your outdoor speakers with a separate amp, using a line-level output for that zone. Easily done.

I have the Hi-Fi system in my place and I couldn't be happier with it. I also use itunes and an ipod touch to control the music. As for it not putting out lots of power it goes loud enough to have 3 visits for the local cops in the first four months of living in my place  .
