HAI Hifi2 and wattage

Greetings,

2 questions

I have an HAI Hifi 2 system that needs to be installed. I am looking at RBH speakers; however, they are a 50 watt speaker. Now, I am never looking to absolutly rock the house but I am looking for some sound to come out of these speakers. With 25 watts per channel with the Hifi 2 system, will that drive a 50 watt speaker? I don't want to drop 3 grand on speakers only to not have the system work.

Any info would be great.

Oh, I am a noob. Does the Hifi2 system require a controller like the Omnipro2 or anything like that or is it a stand alone system?

Thanks again,
Shandley

I would definitely suggest buying one pair of speakers first to test them before you buy enough for the whole house... that said, putting 25 watts into a speaker with a rating of 50 watts should work out just fine.

And as far as I understand, the HiFi2 can be installed completely standalone, or integrate very nicely with any of the HAI controllers... I haven't seen if anyone else is supporting it yet.

Thanks for the reply. We have tested and really, I'm blown away by the speakers.

Now, my problem is the HIFI2 and Omni Pro 2 controller are in different parts of the house. I wonder how long the cable can be between them (the question has been posted in the HAI section in a different post).
