HAI HiFi2 - multiple VSCs on a single zone?

I have a large room with entrances on each end. It only needs to be one zone of audio.
I'd like to put a VSC near each entrance, so I can control the room from either end.
I know I can group separate zones together to act as a single zone.
But I need 8 zones around the house and I think it would be wasteful to add the expansion board for just this one room.

I'm wondering if it is possible to wire two VSCs, wired in parallel, on one zone.
So a single Cat5 would connect to the HiFi2 board/amp and then spilt off to two VSCs.
Would there be comms problems? Would it damage the VSCs or the board? Would it even work?

This section from the VSC docs seems to imply it's possible:
"If space is available, more than one VSC can be configured to a given audio zone. This is useful if multiple VSC keypads are installed in a large room to control a single audio zone. When multiple VSC keypads are configured to an audio zone, all VSC keypads will mimic one another."

But I can't tell if the term "given audio zone" means a single location (RJ45) on the HiFi board or if it is referring to a group of zones.

I know that you can use two VSCs on the same zone connected to different ports on the HiFi2. Never tried it with two connected to the same port. Just try it as it won't damage the VSCs or hifi2, it just won't work if anything. It would have to be connected in parallel. There might also be a problem with voltage supply to both units as the current draw of the two units might be too much. Let us know how you go with it as I would be interested in your findings.
