HAI OmniPro II - Automation Stops Working After Security Event

Hello:

I have an OmniPro II. Installed it four years ago. It mostly works as expected but for the last couple of years, anytime someone trips the burglary alarm (which my wife tends to do on at least a monthly basis), the programmed automation stops working. To get it working again, I have to upload (anything, programming, setup, etc) to the controller using PC Access. I don't change anything, just reload it and it goes back to working. Any idea what may be causing this or how to fix it? The controller is currently running firmware version 3.0. This one was purchased before the software upgradeable versions so it requires new chips to upgrade firmware.

Thanks,

Jack

I'm not triggering off the alarm. My normal daily automation stops working any time there is an alarm event for some reason.

Uploading usually reinitializes the affected subsystems. My first thought is that it sounds like it could be a loop in your programming logic. Resetting the subsystem breaks the loop...

If you just restart (power cycle) the Omni does it resolve the problem?

If this "fixes" the problem then I would look closely at any programmnig that has anything to do with alarms.

Also there have been many improvements since 3.0 it may be worth it to upgrade to 3.10a.

I'm pretty sure I don't have an infinite loop issue but I'll double check to be sure. And no, cycling power doesn't fix it; which would seem to support my previous statement. I'll do some more testing to see what I can figure out. I just checked my programming and I don't have anything setup in relation to alarm events. I don't really have much programming at all, mainly just some lighting automation, but I'll review everything and see what I come up with.

Thanks for coming back to me on this.

Regards,
