iAutomate response...

I just sent wavetrend a message through their site asking for the protocol. We'll see what happens. I'm not making any promises tho for developing the software needed. I may simply toy with the protocol if I get it and then see if Dean would write a CQC driver if the protocol is the one we need.

I say that because while working with Peter on the beta I recall him telling me that he had to program those readers and he explained that the protocol was confidential which is why he wanted to create the miracle. I'm thinking there is a very slight possibility that the RS232 protocol on his readers and the protocol they give me could be different. Who knows? It's not likely but it could be proprietary.

From what I know its proprietary and encrypted, so just catching packets go by is not good enough. If you can get it, they make you sign a non-disclosure.

The mysterious Miracle box that Peter was developing would get around this restriction, but I wonder how Wavetrend felt about it being created? Is it possible that they have killed it, which may explain why it never has appeared, and the possibility is that it may never appear.

I have had a motion sensor/palmpad in my car for several years now, and range wise, it will work. I used to use it for a 'honey I am home' routine, but always wondered how well it would work with the DS10A's since the signal is more secure than the X10 RF signal. Another option I am considering is modifying one of those GE wireless door sensors, so the signal is really secure, and if the range is anything like the keyfobs, then it should be a really good solution. I just need to find some time :)

I use a DS10a on the shifter in my car. So not only does the house know when the car is in the driveway, but it knows whether I am coming or going. I though about the MS16A route, but could not seem to confirm the same info with it.

Sorry to butt in this thread. I am having difficulty trying to get a response from IAutomate. I am not sure if they are in business. They were sure quick to charge my credit card but they're not responsive to my inquiries and phone calls. I will give them a chance for another week. My next step is file a report with FTC for fraud and illegal practices. If anyone on this forum has been taken by this outfit please let me know.

I can not believe that this company is still in business. Please keep us posted. You might also want to try the Homeseer forums (homeseer.com), I believe the owner has a support forum there, and you will definitely find other people who were in your situation. You can also try to call your credit card company, and ask them if they can get in touch with them (explain how you aren't the only customer to have experienced this issue). If they don't get anywhere, then it's time to do a charge back for sure. Good luck!

I was browsing the Wavetrend site and saw this:

It doesn't say what it costs.

Please also note that WaveTrend is also on Crestron's list of integrated partners (http://www.crestron.com/partnerships_and_programs/integrated_partner_program/list_of_partners.asp?page=3) and I thought I saw a blurb in a trade rag in recent months that mentioned it as well. My point is that there has to be a development platform available at some level that allows us to bypass iAutomate.

I'm still amazed at the shoddy operation this Peter runs. RFIDnut, I hope you kick his a$$, so to speak.

iAutomate actually developed a Crestron insterface for their RFID... not sure if Crestron has now developed their own interface with the Wavetrend products?

I had high hopes for the Miracle 5104 controller, but haven't heard anything on it's development for the last year?

It's direct with WaveTrend. Maybe Crestron had the same response from iAutomate that the rest of us have had.
