So I was able to get my SnapLink working on the Wifi no problem..
and I have scoured the net for info on port forwarding and it seems straight forward
but I cant get it to work..

I go into my NetGear router
Enable Port Forwarding

Start in and out Port to 4369
Enter the Static IP address of the OPII
and thats it

Where am I going wrong?

Any help and or guidance is appreciated

Are you forwarding both TCP and UDP protocols? SnapLink (PC) uses both, not sure about the iPhone version.

Are you putting the LAN or WAN IP address into the iPhone app? You can't use the internal LAN address in the iPhone, you must use the external WAN IP.

Another alternative is if your router supports 3rd party firmware like DD-WRT you could just setup VPN mode. When I am outside of my building I just turn VPN on and then use my apps, no port forwarding at all and then you do use your internal ip addys.

Yeah I have both TCP/UDP set for the port forwarding on the correct port.

I think where I'm getting lost is where the router is asking for the Server IP address in the port forwarding section.

What should that address be?
The HAI's IP address, the routers IP.. or ?

On Snaplinkand in its settings section, locally via wireless I have the HAI's IP address and its working locally
but beyond that I'm stumped and maybe just obtuse.

but thanks for your help.

Your static should be set to the Omni's static.
I have fios and here is the port forwarding settings:

Omni Static: 192.168.1.25
TCP Any -> 4369
UDP Any -> 4369
All Broadband Devices
Active

In addition, you need to establish a DynDns account if you do not have a static from your isp.
You will enter the static or dnydns hostname into your iphone app as the address of the Omni panel.

Hope this helps.
