All,
I have 42 irrigation zones spread across 3 controllers - one Rainbird 24 zone, a Rainbird 16 zone, and a small Rainbird (I think) 6 zone. The two larger controllers are in the detached garage near the pump controller for the irrigation well, and the small controller is another 40 yards away in a landscape shed.
They all work well enough, but I'd like to move control over to my Elk. The problem is that I don't have any cabling (except electrical) running to the detached garage or the shed, so I can't figure out a good way to control the zones using my elk. I realized I could add relay boars, but again, no cabling to the point where the zone wiring terminates at the existing controllers. I use Insteon, so I guess I could put in an 8-zone insteon-controlled relay, but I'd rather not have to buy 6 of 'em. Does anyone have any other ideas? Is there a way for the Elk to wirelessly send commands to a remote relay board?
Thanks in advance for ideas.
