Is propane a heavy gas?

Heh...nope, no well. Bet that was a shock to them, though, and I hope he learned a little bit about littering! ;)

I could not be any more disappointed and disgusted with our gas range (it's a whirlpool I think...maybe a Maytag). One thing I discovered is that if you move the knob past "Light" and just let gas pour in, you can't turn the knob back to off without passing past Light again.

So, the knob gets left on, the gas alarm goes off, you run downstairs to turn the knob to Off, and *clickclickclick* *BOOM*!

I hate that stove. Last time the wife gets to pick that out by herself. :)

Are you serious? I've made some design mistakes....( last one cost my client US$1.3mln :) ) but having to light the gas in order to turn it off is just stupid....us geeks and engineers may have the clear mind to turn off the main instead and vent...but if the wifey comes running down in the middle of the night due to gas small then i doubt she'd think about it...

Electric range for me here...especially with kids i just think the risk with gas is too high...

For the propare furnace in the basement i will place one or 2 gas sensors around it...thats the only location where there is gas in the house..
