Are you kidding me, between the initial cost of the dog from a good breeder, north of $1500, vet bills, dog food, increase in home owners insurance (many insurance companies require you to declare if you have one of the breeds they deem dangerous) and potential legal costs if someone were to be bitten (even a burglar), I would strongly suggest that an alarm is MUCH cheaper

Reminds me of a friend of mine from years ago; purchased a pedigreed bull dog; similiar situation.

The puppy was only about 11 months old when someone for whatever reason snatched the dog from his front porch and he never saw the dog again.

You really have to narrow the window a bit and set a budget OR let us know what you expect to get out of your system.

Burglar protection v/s burglar protetion, lighting control / home automation can go from about free(not including monitoring) on up in price.
