M1XEP not found

I just updated my M1XEP firmware, and now it can't be found. I have powered down, tried using the JP2 jumper and still nothing. Any suggestions?

Do you have a cross over cable? In certain conditions, it will default to the IP address of 192.168.0.251. So if you can connect it directly to your PC, and set your PC to be on the same subnet, you should be able to talk to the device.

The M1 XEP manual contains some good info, so I would check it out as well, if you haven't already. Keep us posted!

According to the M1XEP Guru, read M1XEP tech note 6 and 7 which is on the M1dealer.elkproducts.com website to see if that applies.
If upgrading from an much older version without following the update recommendations could cause the module to not work properly. If the module is disabled, it will have to come back to ELK for a brain rejuvenation.

OK Thanks for the suggestions. Instead of the crossover cable and hooking up directly. I took an old router and configured it on 192.168.0.* this way then I connected the computer and the elk to this router, they saw each other. then I changed the Elk to a static IP on 192.168.1 and all was good.

Thanks
