I am planning to replace my aging (and unreliabl;e) X10 automation system with Insteon and don't seem to be able to find modules with more than a single contact closure / single relay interface.
I would like to have at least two inputs for part of my system. What I have is a sensor for the garage door closing and another to detect if my car is in the garage (photo-interruptor).
Basically, what I do is, if the door is closed with the car present, assume I am home (stops running interior lights for "lived-in" look).
If door closes without car, assume I'm away.
It would also be nice to read the door closed independently as well as controll the open/close (relay contact).
Is there a way to accomplish this without having two IOLinc devices? Is there anything like a microcontroller proto kit that would let me "roll my own"?
