New Brultech Energy Monitoring Model (ECM-1240) due in 2009

I could easily create an application that writes the data coming from tenEcmServer to a .csv file that is easily imported into Excel. Let me know if that would be helpful as it would only take 15 minutes to write.

tenholde

15 minutes?? Show off!! (only kidding)

Thanks so much for this tenholde, but I see it depends on NET Framework 3.5 again which will prevent Blade's 1220 HS Plug-in that I am currently using from working.

Sorry to be a pain but will it only take 10 minutes to do in 2.0?

Not sure why the dependency on 3.5. I'll get something here shortly.

tenholde as always your work is awesome.

Works perfectly. Thank you!

Will the HS plug-ins work with HSBasic? Which of course HomeSeer killed (and buried in the desert apparently...) about 1 or two months later ;)

Not sure what you are asking -- do not know what HSBasic is.

I'm writing a plugin for HomeSeer that will create HS Devices for each of the ECM-12xx monitored values. I'm writing it in vb.net using MS Visual Studio 2008.

Making good progress. HS Devices are created and tracking ECM values. Just was able to connect a configuration page for the plugin. Should have an early beta available soon.

Let me know if anyone is interested in testing.

Thanks for the responses, as well as Tenholde putting the software together.

I'm going to get the one that is just RS-232...it seems like the best deal out there!

There's nothing stopping me from finishing my own monitor...but as I said, at least this way I will have an easy way of calibrating it...besides, with this and my 8 inputs from my custom circuit, I'll be able to monitor every circuit in the house for less then $200!

Tenholde - count me in. I'll be glad to test it for you.

Although the Hardware ECM-1240 wise may be quite good, I can't at least say much for customer service or delivery times (two weeks as of today and no delivery...:D). Not a peep either from an e-mail to customer service as to its whereabouts...

Anybody else have the same experience with delivery times and no response from customer service?

I agree, their shipping isn't the greatest but their product is top notch.

I have been patient for a 4 pack order of micro-CT's I placed on 3/24 and have not seen or heard from yet. Maybe this week?

That's when I placed the order. Perhaps they used "alternative shipping", I'll look for "Bullwinkle with a backpack", hope they didn't use an overstuffed passenger pigeon, the Rednecks would shoot it down ...

mdiehl,

I recieved the extra micro-CT's today from my order on the 24th (post marked 4/3). Did you get your meter?

Not a thing in the mail today, if nothing tomorrow I'll have to call em' Monday.
Odd for this long to get from Ontario to Ohio...

Anybody have a source for the Micro CT's that Brultech uses? I'd like to get some more but don't want to wait!

Are the CT's shipping with these units UL listed now? I thought this was an issue some time ago.

If they're not UL listed i would think you'd have a hard time getting a sparky to put them in.

Not the one I found. Geez, I think he would have put a baloney sandwich in the panel if I'd asked.

I'm going to take a guess that most of them won't care about the UL listing for something like that. If they were asked to repair it or even sell it, I bet they'd care.

I took a quick look, this has been of some concern to me as well. I think I asked about this some time ago and they had indicated that it was in the works. At the time I did not know anything about the micros, this discussion was before the ECM-1240 was released, so it was the main CT's being discussed. I did find the following on their website addressing the split-core transformers, I didn't see anything on the micros but perpaps I overlooked it.

"Energy Monitoring SPLIT-CORE CTs are available in 60A, 100A and 200A capacity. Larger capacity CTs are available by special order. These are to be used with the monitor's CH1 or CH2. All of our SPLIT CTs are now UL/c listed."

When installing these CT's...does it matter if they're close to the termination lugs or breakers?

With the spil CT's you don't have to disconnect the main feed from the main breaker (main breaker and panel itself should ofcourse be off) and for the micro CT's you just unterminate from the breaker, slip on the CT and put it back in...all of course with the main breaker OFF.

I just don't know if I should use electrical tape of similar to fix the CT's in a certain position on the conductors or not.

I supposed the variour leads from the CT's can all come together and exit the panel though a knockout with strain relief and go to the unit right?
