Elk-M1XEP Ethernet Expander Firmware 1.2.14 released 10/29/08
Release Notes:
1. Added support for the AMX Duet Device Discovery routine. ElkRP now provides a new option under the M1XEP
Setup button. The AMX option must be checked in order for the AMX Beacon message to be broadcasted.
2. Implemented support for a new special ASCII “AP” command that an M1 can use to send data to software applications.
Refer to the Elk ASCII Protocol documentation for more details.
3. Found and resolved an issue that could cause the Java Webserver application to lock up if the login code happened
to be the Installer or RP codes. Basically, the Java app. now checks for a return reply of whether the code is user/
master/installer/RP. If not user or master, it displays “Invalid Code.” but should no longer lock up.
4. Found and resolved an issue with the Java webserver application that caused the display of Outputs to be sized too
small to view on MacOS systems.
5. Found and resolved an issue with the TEST button in ElkRP for testing DynDNS and NTP servers. The XEP wouild
sometimes report back to ElkRP that the test passed even when it didn’t.

6) A version dedicated to the ViziaRF (RZC0P) Lighting Interface - M1XSP_ViziaRF_Update.exe (20.0.4)
Shoot! I got tired of waiting so I got Homeseer and Z-troller last week.

Elk-M1XEP Ethernet Expander Firmware 1.2.14 released 10/29/08

Anything in here address the inability to send Email via the FIOS ActionTec router? Thanks.

6) A version dedicated to the ViziaRF (RZC0P) Lighting Interface - M1XSP_ViziaRF_Update.exe (20.0.4)

Great, a final version!

Spanky, the release notes mention the newer VRZC0P only. Does it work with the old RZC0P? Is there any reduction in functionality or stability on the old RZC0P? Is there a fix for command collisions?

The logo and part number are different that's it.

2. Implemented support for a new special ASCII "AP" command that an M1 can use to send data to software applications. Refer to the Elk ASCII Protocol documentation for more details.
The currently available (2008-11-04) version of the ASCII Protocol document (1.70) does not include the new AP command. What's the projected release date for the revised version?

I can't update firmware.... RP ver 1.6.26 M1XEP vers 1.1.4 boot ver 1.2.12. Connected to network via wire vs. wireless. Have cycled power and rebooted M1XEP no change. Suggestions? Firmware is in proper directory and shows up on drop down box... after highlighting adapter and pressing update it begins the process and within 1-2 seconds it cancels itself.

4. Found and resolved an issue with the Java webserver application that caused the display of Outputs to be sized too
small to view on MacOS systems.
Is that the only issue with MacOS accessing M1XEP? I can get to the basic page, but have never been able to get past - it tells me "Control Unavailable - retry?" repeatedly... never made it past.

The next M1 release is pending the completion of some new whole house audio commands. In that release will be the AP, CD, and T2 commands.

There is only one version of the RZCOP Zwave software.

ASCII Protocol version is at 1.74 and will be released when new M1 software is available.

The FIOS Actiontec router is working with the latest M1XEP upgrade and Actiontec software upgrade. Knock On Wood! <_<

Lots of things are happening. Stay tuned!

Windows Firewall is blocking FTP communications and/or outgoing to port 21. If the update is occurring via the Internet, the router needs to port forward port 21. Look for some issue similar to this. It could be Zone alarm, Norton or McAfee security suites, etc. If all else fails, install and run a network packet sniffer like Wireshark and forward a capture of the session to Tech Support.

Thanks for the suggestion but thats not the problem as I have Windows Firewall disabled on my laptop and I'm working withing my own network. Usinging wired or wireless connection makes no difference, the router is not involved.....its still cancelling itself. Doing a manual FTP to port 21 on the M1XEP adapter yields a prompt from Net +OS

PROBLEM SOLVED: On the main RP screen there is a place for URL/IP.. Well I had my domain which works fine for connecting either locally or remotely with the M1 via the RP software. This doesn't work out when doing updates... Changing it to the local IP address solved the problem.

i use upb and updated my xsp with the generic firmware. every thing was fine before i updated. now i don't have lighting control. looking in Send/Rcv --> Enroll/Update Control and Devices the xsp no shows up. i have enrolled bus from keypad and from elkrp. also, i have cycled power to the elk system. how can i roll back the firmware upgrade to my xsp so i can use it again?

hey spanky.. i made another thread about this this a little further down, .. i know you guys and gals over at elk must be hard at work on lots of other updates to the elk M1XSP.. but i have a problem with the driver for the RadioRA interface, i have a 10 button switch, but the driver only allocates 5 buttons (the one's i want to use for lights) as being able to be controlled by the elk.. any way i can get a driver update put on the list to be able to use a 10 button master controller, or possibly even a 15 button one in case i get on down the road ?

thanks!
