I'm not sure if someone already posted this (I searched, and could not find a post), but it looks like Elk has updated their website!

It is a HUGE improvement over the old one! Spanky, tell your developers that they did a great job!

I guess I am confused. HUGE improvement? I do see a new splash screen with 2 options;

1- A link that directs installers/retailers to the same old (but good) website.
2- A link that directs consumers to a flash based site that will be targeted at consumers. At this time there doesn't appear to be anything of value here.

Spanky- If you tell your web developers they did a great job already, your expectations are too low!

The consumer side sends me to a white/empty page. I suppose that it is supposed to have something, but nothing shows.

CORRECTION: It shows something, it just takes long to load. Its the kind of risk when using Flash.

The page is not as complex. I suppose that Flash is justified sometimes (at the risk of alienating some potential readers), but probably you could have created a very similar page using HTML or AJAX (at most) without the tradeoffs of using flash (compatibility, indexing not possible, etc.).

Hmm. Consumer link takes a long time to load...maybe an issue with their server.

I meant it was a huge improvment visually. It looks more professional. I agree that functionally, it isn't as good as the old one...but if you still want the old one, just click on the Installers/Distributers link. :wacko:

We had requests for a consumer section of the website that tells the consumer what the M1 system will do for them. It is intended for the NON-Technical individual that only wants to know what the system can do.

The consumer section is Flash based with lots of picturess. If you are using a dial up line, it is probably slow.
