New Security System Recommendations

We are building a new home and I was researching and wanted to go the Elk M1 route but my CFO aka wife vetoed the funding. I am now looking for more of a pure security system at a lower cost. If I can integrate with home automation in the future that would be a plus.

My house has the following:
-4 hard wired doors
-11 ground level windows (wireless sensors needed)
-Cat 5 ethernet runs to a location on the main and 2nd floor where a security panel can be placed
-3 hard wired locations for motion sensors

I have been looking at the various solutions and I like 2gig but don't want to pay the high monthly fees. I would like to use something like Alarm Relay and monitor over the Internet. We would also want the ability to arm, disarm etc from an iPhone/iPad. DSC looks like the best option but their packages aren't very straightforward from what I have found. What would the others recommend on the board?

Thanks,

Jason

Thanks...the Lynx Touch product looks good but it appears for the iPhone app you have to sign up for Honeywells Total Connect service? If I have the ILP5 (internal Internet communicator) could I use a 3rd party app to monitor, arm etc without Total Connect. Will this systems work with AlarmRelay?

Thanks

1. If you're building, why wireless for windows?
2. You only get on chance to wire with walls-down... make sure you don't miss anything!
3. Depending on your approach, the M1 is cheaper than a generic big-box alarm like ADT over time because of cheaper monitoring... that worked for us.
