New to home automation

He means the official one that you have to take to get access to the software. As I understand it, there's an online course you can do to prove you understand the system and then you can register for the RA2 setup software. I have a demo system, but I never had to take the course, so I don't know anything about how it works. So I told him to ask here since I've heard various folks here talk about having done it (I think.)
 
I was wondering if systems like Insteon can control simple whole home audio systems like Russound CAA6.6 or the monoprice 6 zone system or do you need a more complex system like the russound mca88?
 
Some have interfaced to Sonos and ISY has controls for an iR remote. I don't use any of them.
 
These may not be using Insteon comms though but rather using the Network module via Ethernet.
 
Here is the $99 refurbished ISY994i unit I was referring to. It seems that it slipped a link from their homepage somehow. You would also need a PLM. the newer units v2.x have better capacitors used to avoid the two year burn out problem that started just after warranty expiry.
