Noob questions #1

I hope you will forgive some simple questions. I am new to HA and am trying to work my way through the documentation, forum and kb articles.

One of my first challenges is my promo kit came with a ER Temp Sensor. I have hooked this up as described in the documentation. However, when I go to look at the status, it says "SECURE". I am looking for a specific temperature to be reported.

System: HAI OmniPro II
Sensor: HAI 31A00-7 Extended Range Temperature Sensor
Zone: 11

Status will only show SECURE or NOT READY of any zone.
For temperature sensors it determines this by the heat and cool setpoints for each temperature sensor.

To view temperature readings on a standard console, the easiest is to press 6,3,#.
That is the sunrise/sunset page which includes outside temp

Or you can use the temperature menu under number 5.

Make sure you have the outside temperature sensor zone type set to ER Outdoor Temperature (yoou can only have one).
All the others have to be set to ER Temperature.

6,3,# shows me times, but no temps. 5 asks for which temp zone, 0=all, but I cant see what to do to get past that.

The 5 menu should allow you to scroll through the temp zones with the up/down buttons.

If you don't see anything there, it's possible the system is not seeing any temperature sensors.

Chances are you did not configure the zone type properly.
If you verify the zone type is set properly, check the wiring.

From the docs:

6 STATUS
3 = SUN (SUNRISE / SUNSET AUTOMATIC CALCULATION)
The system automatically calculates the time of sunrise and sunset each day. From the status menu, press the 3 (SUN) key on the
console keypad to display the calculated time of sunrise, sunset, and the outdoor temperature (if outdoor temp sensor installed):

Code:
SUNRISE: 6:00 AM Temp
SUNSET: 5:58 PM 85

If you have no temp showing, you have no outdoor temperature sensor.

To enter the temperature menu, from the top-level display or from the main menu, press the 5 (TEMP) key on the console keypad.

You will be prompted with the first named temperature zone (i.e. Upstairs).

Did you name the temperature zone?
Is there anything displayed on the first line after the word Temperature?
Code:
TEMPERATURE: (NAME)
ENTER TEMP ZONE 0=ALL ↓

The temperature zone can be specified by entering
the temperature zone number followed by the ' # ' key, or by pressing the arrow keys to scroll through the list of temperature
zones. Press the ' # ' key when the desired temperature zone is shown.
