OmniPro II no longer has network link

My OmniPro II is no longer getting network link. To be honest, I have not used the ethernet in at least 6 months, so I do not know when it broke. I was excited to see that the new .NET SDK was out and wanted to plug away at a project that I have been waiting to do. Any thoughts on troubleshooting?

I generally like to start at the beginning and check the basics...

No link light is usually a cable/port problem. Cables do fail! Make sure the cable is good. Swap it or use a cable tester. Try a different port on the switch/hub/router. Reboot the switch/hub/router.

Next I would look at the configuration. From a console verify the IP address and port. Also the encryption key. When people reset the controller they tend to only re-enter the settings they use. If you don't use the network these settings could have been lost if the controller was reset to defaults any time in the last six months.

Most of the time it is something simple that got overlooked.

I definitely recommend you check all the usual suspects: power cycle your network switch and/or router, check the network cables, make sure you can 'ping' the OP2, etc.

FWIW, I had a similar problem on Saturday: I had PC Access up and running and connected to my OP2, and I was going room to room checking the sensors and their status. About halfway through, I lost my connection to the OP2. I thought I was in a Wifi deadspot, so I tried to 'repair' the connection (to no avail), I plugged into the ethernet jack in the room (no help), i moved back to the family room (still can't connect), I power cycled my network switches (still didn't work), tried a serial cable directly to the OP2 (still didn't connect), tried uninstall/reinstall of PCA (still didn't work), checked the IP address and encryption key (they were correct, but I still couldn't get in), and finally.. I power cycled the OP2.

everything worked fine after that.
