Hello

Sinci few months, I have a problem with few Global Cache.

Several times by day, the Global Cache Driver write an error in Monitor / Events. During few minutes, the global cache is not accessible.
I don't know why...

I have change Global Cache
I have change the power supply
I have change the cables
I have change the switch
and I have this problems in 2 installations...

Do you have an idea ?

Best regards
Jean-Michel

Are you using two GC-100's or the new iTach devices? For the iTach devices to work, you will likely need to flash the firmware.

I'm assuming the GC-100's work 100% of the time even when the events occur?

I think the events show that polling has failed... I use a GC-100 and an iTach WIFI2IR with no issues. There's a poll inputs option under device properties, but I think I have this unchecked (I'll check tonight).

In the mean time, try unchecking poll inputs and examine what's being sent to the GC-100 in port spy during these events. I would study the GC-100's protocol and compare with what you see in port spy. I think Premise is polling the GC-100 during the events, so see if the GC-100 is responding and post a copy of what's in port spy here and I can compare with my GC-100.

Hello,

It's just a classic GC-100, not an iTach.

Tomorrow, I can try your solution and see the events log.

Thank You
Jean-Michel

It turns out I do have "PollInputs" enabled, but I don't have any events. In port spy I see the attached.

For those who may not be aware, unless I am mistaken, Powox is one of the original contributors to the old Premise forums.

Glad to see you're still around! Hope you have more problems and hit the forums a lot!!!

Hello,

I has been in old forum, yes ;)
but I have not resolve my problem yet :(

but my version of is :

getversion,1
getversion,1
version,1,2.0.7.071503-1-12

and etc6849, you have version 1.3.xxxx

where is the driver for this version ?

Jean-Michel

forget this, I have another customer with a version 1,3.2-12...
I don't understand :(

je ne veux pas ecrire un driver :(

I believe that is the firmware version of the GC-100 and only sending your GC-100 to Global Cache can change it. I'm not convinced that's the issue though. What does the GC-100 device properties show for the firmware version? I'll paste mine later tonight. I'm wondering if the extra dash is messing up how the GlobalCache add-in parses the response? I'm sure it uses the commas only, but you never know...

If the parsing looks like it works, I'm very confused why you are getting a response and the events unless you have some intermittent network issue (which it sounds like you've thought about too). See below for some possibilities...

Could there be some program on the network trying to talk to the GC-100 periodically (like a laptop you turn on once a day or something)? Could there be something in windows causing the port to be reset? Could an ethernet cable have an intermittent connection? Could you have a ground loop in the GC-100's connection? Too many possibilities on the hardware side of things...

Hi,

I also think that the version is sent by the device. I Can check tomorrow if the version of GC's are the same in all installations. The problem is very recent, so, maybe a bad serial of GC...

In the network, nothing should disturb the GC's. I have less of 10 devices on the network and each with an fixe IP

the cuts are arrived random. No fixed hour... 00h07, 04h36, 09h22, etc...

Jean-Michel

ps: sorry to my english... :(

If that's the time between events, it's not an issue with polling so disregard my earlier suggestion. Still worth while to check the versions, but I doubt it's the GC-100's.
