Thanks to you all, for having so actively contributed with your thoughts.
To sum up, I think what everyone has to say is that for HA, we need to use HAI or ELk, to do the core automation and also handle security. Premise can be added to provide more programming functionality (something in addition to what the HAI or ELk provide) and also to do text to speech for announcements etc.
