Quick Help with Caddx and HS2.0 Plug-in

Help!!

I am unable to get HS 2.0 to communicated with my Caddx panel. It was working fine with 1.7 and the old Nitrox plug-in. But I was forced into upgrading (don't ask, long and very painful story) and the old Nitrox plug-in does not work, so I was looking forward to upgrading to the new plug-in, but I am unable to get it to communicate to the panel. I am on-site and only have a couple more hours before I have to leave, and I *really* need to get this working..

Any ideas? Here is a clip from my debug log file.

I don't think HS2.0 works well with the CaddX at all from what I can tell. BSR is waiting with upgrading to HS2 because CaddX isn't working right. The HS plugin forum seems to indicate that the author is MIA. Sorry

Do you have remote access this location? If so, make sure you have physical connectivity, and you could work out the software issue later on. If you are saying that the plugin isn't working, try Hyper Terminal to verify the serial port is still ok.

I thought I read some forum reports that "someone" had success with the Nitrox plugin in HS2.0. To cover the basics, can you communicate with the DL900 software program? Do you have "just" the plugin communicating and not the DL900 at the same time? Is anything else trying to access the serial port (PalmPad, etc...)?

Random thoughts as I know you are trying to get this working now.

First, great suggestions...

I have never been able to get the DL900 working in this server, even with the Nitrox plug-in working, so that is a tough test.

The problem with troubleshooting remote is I can't tell if the alarm is responding or not, the plug-in seems to say it is, but siting here nothing changes.

Do you know the hyperTerminal settings? Or what commands/responses? I remember trying this before with limited success... I remember the initial install was a bit of 'magic; as I was unable to test most stuff, and I installed the plug-in and suddenly it stared working.

I have checked all the basics, wiring connections ETC...

I will be trying everything/anything...

Worse yet I am trying to install ~20 UPB switches and get them working at the same time... so far I have quite a few 'issues' with UPB.

hmmm, did you by any chance change the serial port settings in the NX8e board itself? There was one strange setting that I remember Nitrox had WRONG when connecting with the DL900 software. I will try to find that HS Forum post right now.

Check these settings in the NX8e Board itself (for Nitrox's plugin):

These were the settings for the Nitrox plugin, not sure exactly what you need for Alan's plugin.

Also, make sure your user name and code match in the plugin when trying to connect.

Also, if you want to give the DL900 software a try, make sure again, the user name and code match and note the comment above to turn off ALL segments in location 210, Segment 1. Also make sure the DL900 is set to 9600 Baud and ASCII mode.

Thanks for the help guys... I did not get it working, but I gotta get outta here or I am gonna miss my flight, hopefully I can fix it by remote..

:My Caddx has been working with the thew AJW plugin for about 2 months with no problems. I had some problems setting it up, and I believe the options are set differently than the previous plugin. Make sure you follow the configuration of the Caddx EXACTLY as per Alan's instructions.

I did have some problems setting up the options from the plug-in user interface and ended using the DL900 to set the options,(example the plugin does not configure to use 6 digits access codes and a few others options).

Once configured it has been running smoothly.
