RF splitters

Looking for some help on how to mix & match splitters or other devices to allow me to feed 2 or more sources (CATV and antenna) to 16 different outlets. I can see how to get the job done with a single source but I am not sure how to deal with adding a second/third source to the mix. Any good tutorials out there that I can read and determine how to get the job done?

Several questions:

1) If I use CATV and an external antenna as input sources, will the channel frequencies conflict with each other?

2) I have seen the 3x8 units from Leviton and it appears to me that they will allow me to feed 3 sources to 8 outlets. I assume I can use a 1x2 splitter to feed 2ea of the 3x8 splitters to get my signals out to 16 outlets.

3) I have also seen 1x16 splitters from Channel Vision. That suggest to me that I can use a 1x2 splitter in reverse as a CATV & antenna combiner and then feed the single output to the 1x16.

Am I anywhere close to the right approach? My new house has all the wire in place and I will need to come up with a distribution solution in a few weeks.

1) Usually, the answer is yes. Be very careful when combining an antenna with any other video source. You can end up broadcasting the cable signal (or other video source) through the antenna, which is a BAD thing. Could interfere with Police, Fire, AM/FM broadcast, garage door openers, etc. Also quite a few tales floating around of people combining cameras and antenna systems, and ending up broadcasting their private lives to all the neighbors. You get the picture.

2) Yes

3) Same problem as #1
