Security Screens

I recently installed security screens on my shop building.   These screens have heavyweight aluminum frames, 12x12 per inch stainless steel mesh screening, and swing open for cleaning and emergency exit.  They are installed on the outside of the building and create a protective "bubble" over the window.    It would take a "very determined" burglar equipped with the right tools to remove or cut through the screen.

These are Tapco (www.tapcoinc.net) designed screens, manufactured by Security Screen Masters (www.securityscreenmasters.com) of Arizona.   Disclaimer: Not affiliated with either company.

From a distance, they look like a solar screen.  In reality, they do cut about 50% of the light.

This is a typical horizontal slider window, 5' wide x 4' high.  Same principle is used for single/double hung windows.   Casement (swing out) or fixed windows use a tubular (round key) type lock on the outside frame.
