Somfy Sonesse 30 ST30 IWT RS485 + HAI OmniPro II

Relleum,

For my sake, would you go through the complete install process, beginning to end, clarifying which choices you made for correct hookup? I have the same issue coming up in a few months and would really appreciate the guidance. Thanks!

Ditto Relleum, I will be in the same boat starting around February. I had no idea the OP II only addressed the ILT series. If you have any kind of procedure you can write up it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I also have a question on ST30 IWT motor wiring. I know about the RS485 and DC power. However can you install the motor with the wiring to either the right side or the left side? I assume flipping the "wire side" would reverse the motor direction, which can be controlled in the programing setup. Is there any advantage to either way? Maybe hide-ability of the wires or shade positioning?

Second question is where exactly in relation to the top of the window frame is best for the wires to protrude through the frame? 4" from the top of the frame? Between the motor mount and the top of the frame? Somewhere else? And for the other directional axis, should I have them more "back" toward the glass or "front" away from the glass? Note I can't have my wires come through the top side of the window frame, only left or right side.

I have the option to tell my builder where to have the wires come through the wood framing (left or right side and position) and I need to get this optimized before buying anything.

Thanks.

It doesn't matter which side you have your wiring on. The limit setting tool will allow you to switch motor directions on a whim. You will have to specify which side you want to your shade manufacturer/retailer. I did all of mine on the left, and it worked out just fine.

Since everyone has been asking for a guide, I posted one on a new thread. Check it out, and let me know if it helps!
