Touchscreen position

Well I have two 19in touchscreens I picked up on ebay a while back and have been putting them through there paces. I'll be mounting the first one in a wall in the first floor hallway near the door from the garage, and the second is going in the kitchen or the second floor hallway. My question is how high has everyone else mounted there touchpanels?

The "standard" would be 58" from the floor, but it would depend also on if you want kids to be able to access it.

I believe mine is around 65", which seems to work well in a no-kids household.

58" to bottom of screen, middle of screen, top of screen? Does that 58" apply to other things also? (like thermostats, alarm keypads, audio keypads)

I mounted mine so the middle was eye-level to the wife, who's 5'5" without shoes on. I'll swag at the middle being right around 60", and the touchscreen is about 7" high, so 56/57ish inches.

I'm 6'2", so it's a PITA for me as I have to bend a little given the bad off-angle capabilities of my cheap touchscreen, but at least the wife is happy.

Yea, I think 'standard' can be defined as 'Whatever works for you'. Since all TS's are different you need to take into account mounting location (anything in the wall to go around), users, etc. All that said, my 15" ELO is around 61" at the center of the screen. It needed to be a height where we could easily feed the fish.

Typically 58" from the bottom, but whatever works for you.

Thanks everyone, I'm only 5 8 so it doesnt need to be to to high. I might just have a couple friends of different heights come check the viewing angle before i cut to big of a whole. I won't be the only one who ever uses it, though my friend who is way over 7' might just have to bend a little. Anyways I'll give it a go and take some pics this weekend.

Can you mount it without cutting, to try it for a week or 3? Or, install one, wait a month, and then install the other, based on your experience with the first?

Edit - do the kitchen 3rd, after you work out the kinks with #1 and #2. Just assuming you'll buy a third, down the line...
