Is there a way, through UPStart or PCAccess, to define a double tap on a HAI dimmer to activate a a different unit?

I have a lamp in the living room on a centralite azela zigbee lamp module, however, there is no simple way to activate it when entering the room. I have a 35A00-1CFL on the overhead light in the living room--would I be able to re-assign the double tap so that instead of snaping the overhead light on, it would turn another unit? (the zigbee module)

Thanks!

This is a bit confusing, do you have a mixed UPB and zig bee install?

Assuming you are talking about an HAI UPB dimmer switch:
You can make the single tap turn on the local load and the double tap send a UPB link.
The HAI could receive the link and turn on the zigbee unit.

How do you disable local load control on the HAI dimmers? I might have missed the option, but without it the local load will be controlled along with the remote device when the link is sent.

Disabling the local load part is what I dont know how to do. I am sure I can program something in PCAccess to activate the lamp module when the rocker is pressed twice, but it will also activate the overhead light.

I guess this is where the SA Dimmers might come in handy...

You could always get a multi-button SA switch and use one button for controlling the local load and the second button for transmitting a link to activate the lamp module.

The SA switches don't have the "do nothing" on double tap - but I've seen it on pulseworx switches.

Tip - work offline in upstart and try adding different switches - you'll be able to see what the options are for different manufacturers.

An SA 240 should be able to "do nothing".

I think you can also turn off local load control on an 1140 and make it respond to links only like a 240.

The "Do Nothing" wasn't an option on the SA240 - at least, you couldn't say "On Single Tap, Go to 100%; On double tap, Do Nothing"... however, that is available in the Pulseworx I believe... It was an option I was specifically looking for. You also unfortunately can't set one link for single tap and another for double tap - with any of the switches I've looked at.

I asked for this feature back when I was in the PCS beta test. This single feature would have made the switches so much more powerful.

On the 240 each button can have 4 actions; tap, double tap, hold and release.
With the Custom Button function you can make the single tap "Activate" and the double tap "No Command" or "Status".
But that won't help because there is only one link associated with each button. So the double tap would literally do nothing.

Right - sorry, this thread got confusing. The SA 240 doesn't really have local load control - it has to use links even for local actions. The 1140 can respond directly to the rocker *and* you can assign links. So - you can have a switch set up so that single tap turns on/off the ceiling light, and a double-tap turns on/off every light in the room. However - with the SA switches, if you double tap, it'll execute the link AND the local action - and there's no option to disable the local action on a double tap with SA; I did see it in PCS switches tho.

What that means is that if I have a switch that controls the ceiling light, and I want to set the double-tap switch to turn off the desk light, there's no way to totally separate the two - no matter what, a double-tap is going to still affect the ceiling light because it's part of the local load control.
