Verizon 4G in Sacramento, CA area

I started getting 4G signal last week in the Sacramento area. It has been on and off availability but seems to be getting better daily. While most of my results from speed test.net have been around 10 mb/s, I have consistently hit 20mb/s in certain areas, my personal record being 32mb/s. Wow. Wonder what the network will level out to once 3G is gone.

I was in Carmichael today on a Verizon 4G hotspot - it connected at 4G but was only getting about 3MB down. I wan't wait until it gets more mainstream!

I wonder where the towers are. I am surprised at only 3mb down in Carmichael due to proximity to Sacramento. I got coverage in Roseville, Lincoln, and Auburn.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the towers are only good for about a 3-mile radius - so I'm sure it just depends which on you get on.

These speeds are great!

What were the upload speeds like?

Now if only Verizon could provide unlimited data plans.

I get about 9mbs down and about 1 up on Sprint 4G in Austin. It doesn't cover every square inch of the city however. My home is not in the 4g coverage, but my office is.
