video doorbell recommendations

hello...it's been a year since our house renovation and was hoping you could give me a couple system recommendations in regard to a video doorbell
system ( i welcome other suggestions)
here's what i have:
doorbell area (no doorbell at present), is wired with both cat 5 and phone (cat 3?) back to an area where i was thinking of placing a monitor;

i do have a power source where i can mount the monitor
i'd like a system that has night vision, and hopefully can communicate with the person who "rings" the doorbell, as well as a fairly wide angle camera

to give you an idea,
i was looking at some old panasonic systems, when i first did my constuction, but they are no longer made;
somthing like this:

i have a levitron structured wired box, which has both cat 5 and coax cable running throught the house...although i don't believe the wire from the doorbell is connnected to the structured box...it just goes to the monitor position
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I am running an On-Q system, but do not have the video intercom. The system has been rock solid for 2 years.
Check out their site as they have some interesting designs.

I was thinking aiphone too. There are some units that have video phones with a conposite video outputs at the master station for recording if needed.

thanks ....we've had a few strange people knock and our door and we need something

no longer have a security door, but a nice (unsafe) mahogany door

i will check out the sites, but if you have a specific recommendation for these manufactorers i'd appreciate it!

...i was looking at that one...don't know if it connects with cat 5

also looking at the "ax" models (since they connect with cat 5)

am looking for something basic but functional, so thanks for the response

A wireless home intercom system as well as a wireless video door intercom is good to use. The wireless video doorbell VISS7500 is easy to install. The video image is color and good quality. The doorbell is loud and sounds good. Also, the camera lens can be adjusted up and down. There are many kinds of video doorbell at espow.
Hope you find what you want! Good luck! :P

Channel Vision has a few units as well. They showcased a new unit, which provides you with a keypad, hidden camera, 2-way intercom, and a proximity reader.
