Wallplates for RadioRA 2 Keypads

For the new house I'm looking at going all RadioRA 2. For the keypads the PDF manual states only the Lutron wall plates will work. Can someone with RadioRA 2 keypads confirm if this is true or not. I would prefer to just pickup standard metal plates at Home Depot, instead of paying $3 - $9 for the Lutron plates.

I've only used Lutron screwless Decora plates, for my 2 KPs.

I've used non-Lutron Decora plates, though, for the RA2 dimmers, no probelm.

I do agree the Lutron plates are nicer. I could see $5-6 for a 3 gang, but $9 is up there for a plastic plate. As part of this project I'm also replacing all the 30 year old beige outlets with white tamper resistant decora style ones. The plan was to have all the plates match, but I might just do the Lutron screwless plates for just the gangs with keypads.

The Lutron plates are nice.  But the switches use a regular Decora profile (which, I believe Lutron invented), so any wall plate designed for that will work just fine.  Most of mine are currently regular wall plates.  I do plan on replacing a few of them with the nicer ones from Lutron.  I decided against this at the of construction as we were already well over budget on gizmos.

The other influencing factor is I have some Russound keypad nearby and wanted to avoid having them clash, decor-wise.  However, the Russound Uno-S2 keypads fit quite neatly into a 2-gang decora opening if you remove the center section.  I had done this in the old house for a room that had brass wall plates.  Took a bit of careful work with a Dremel and hand files, but it looked great.  I've just not gotten around to seeing about altering a Claro wallplate for the same effect.

search ebay, I have seen for $3-$4 a piece in white

The Lutron plate does not fit well over Carlon old-work boxes. It needs one to trim the lips of the wall box to allow the plate to fit flush with the wall.

Well, old work boxes are never ideal.  I've always had to recess them just a tiny bit in order to get wall plates to set flush.
