I purchased a Waater Bug W-S-S from winland. This is a supervised water detection sensor. I tried to use it with my M1G with no results. It see it as a supervised device but when I short the contacts I do not get an alarm.

What Winland control are the probes wired to?
Which unit is not generating the alarm?
Have you verified the relay operation on the Winland device?
Are you shorting the contacts on the probe as directed to generate an alarm condition?
Have you tried changing the state of the wiring to either short or open (depending on the M1 programming) to see if an alarm condition is indicated by the panel?

I dod not get the wb800 or the enviroalert. I was hoping to hook the water bug sensor directly to the m1g. I just hooked it up to an open zone as a supervised NO device.

Wrong device for the application/installation.

A WSS will not work with properly without the WB800.

A WSU might work, however I would not recommend it without a WB200.

search for a thread called

Water Sensors -- where?

it has discussion of making your own water sensor using copper wire and 470k ohm resistor.
