What is needed to order Uplink 2500 for M1G

I was told that it could potentially work with this different serial cable that has this different connection on it. If you take a look at the Elk M1XSP, it references that the cable for the Uplink 2500 is now included with the M1XSP. When I went to hook it up, I quickly found that what I had wasn't going to work (since the 2500EZ has a different connection on the circuit board). I sent an email to both Elk and to Uplink. Elk said that since the 2500EZ didn't have a serial port, it wouldn't work (and sent me the 2500EZ sales brochure from the Uplink website). Uplink said that it could potentially work with this other cable that they sent me (RS232 on one end, and the square connector on the other).

Does anyone have a picture of the connection on the Elk-W046A? I could compare that to what Uplink sent (and the board of the 2500EZ).

Hi Everyone-

Quick update on this topic. So the Uplink 2500EZ does work with the Elk M1G when connected via serial cable. You have to contact Uplink for a different serial cable than what comes with the M1XSP. The new cable has a 12-pin rectangular connector (two rows of 6), and only 3 cables going into the connector. There's a small white dot on one of the long sides of the connector near the corner, and that dot must be facing down (on the right) when plugged into the Uplink 2500EZ.

I tested this last evening with the CS, and they were receiving commands from the 2500EZ with full zone info.

The right unit is the 2500 for the Elk. The 2500EZ i guess could work, but is more work?

But we are waiting for them to come out with next generation unit... Hopefully soon.
