Which Sensors Should I Use: Door/Window, Occupancy, Motion, etc.

Hey folks,

Purchased an HAI Omnipro II a few months ago, and the walls of our new house are being built and going up as we speak. I've got a few weeks before the wiring for the electrical/security/automation stuff will start happening and wanted to get everyone's opinion on what security sensors they like to use, specifically what manufacturer/model numbers I should be looking at for the window/door contacts and occupancy sensors.

To help understand where everything is going I've attached the floorplan below.

To summarize there are:
  • 18 Casement Windows
  • 4 Doublehung Windows
  • 7 Swing Doors
  • 5 Pocket Doors
  • 2 Sliding Glass Doors
  • 2 Garage Doors
What does everyone like to use for hardwired security sensors? Any good luck with one brand over another? And, what occupancy sensors wire into the HAI nicely.

I've got some ideas, but wanted to put this out vaguely to see if what you guys would use matches what my uneducated overly Internet researched brain has picked up.

Thanks a bunch,
-Mike

For door/window contacts I like the GE (Sentrol) or GRI contacts.

For motion detectors I like GE (particulary the RCR series) and Takex.

For glass break I like the GE Shatterpro III series.

I have used these brands in my installations for years and have found them to be reliable, with a very low failure rate.
