Windows 7 and TTS

Has anyone got Text-to-Speech to work under Windows 7? I got my two AT&T 16-bit Natural voices to install (the 8-bit ones didn't) The TTS control panel doesn't display these voices, but I learned a little trick of using the SAPI control panel in the Windows/SysWOW64/speech/speechUX/SAPI.cpl to set my default voice. The AT&T voices all speak fine in the control panel.

I also downloaded some demo apps, like TextAloud from NextUp.com, and those speak fine. BUT CQC won't speak. I'm starting to think its a CQC issue. Anyone got any HA programs speaking in Windows 7?

I run network monitoring software on Windows 7 RC1, and use the default OS voice which works well (using SAPI). I ran into a similar issue with CQC, the problem ended up being a permissions issue. You need to run the CQC service under a regular user account (don't remember if the user has to have admin access, but mine does), not the Local System account (which is the default).

In the past (XP) I would create a separate account for CQC, with its own login, and that worked. I have tried the same thing for CQC under Windows 7, but no such luck. They claim Win 7 supports all SAPI 5 applications, and a test program that I tried, a program called TextAloud, by NextUp.com seems to run fine in Win 7, but CQC does not. I also should note that I'm running 64-bit Win 7, which is a different beast that 32-bit, and actually supports 64-bit voices (of which I've yet to see available for purchase.)

So, let me ask, has anyone gotten TTS to work with CQC using the release version of 64-bit Windows 7?
