Wiring sensors to two devices

Is it possible to wire a sensor in parallel/series to two devices? I'd like an outside gate magnet sensor to trigger ELK as well as my CCTV. I'd rather not have to go through ELK, then waste an ELK relay output to trigger the CCTV.

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the type of input the CCTV has. What is the brand and model of the CCTV you have?

I would think you would be better isolating them with a DPDT relay or, if you haven't purchased it yet, buy a DPDT magnetic gate sensor and run 4 conductors.

Maybe if your CCTV system has outputs run the gate to the CCTV and the output to the Elk. You still may need a relay, though. It depends on the type of inputs and outputs on the CCTV system as mentioned above.
