WS467/XPDI3 Homeseer Issues....

So, I decided to get some cfl's for cheap on ebay, and discovered they would not work with my ws467 switches... I did some research and tried a couple of xpdi3's that I had in another room with the cfl's and they worked great.

I decided to keep the bulbs and replace the switches (the ws467's) I had in the house in the areas I wanted to use the cfl's...

I first noticed something was up when I replaced a ws467 that powered a light above my sink... yeah, the soft start and the dim setting...

I run homseer 1.7 and it's been working just great... I've got literally everything like I want it, and have no interest in upgrading if possible...

I found that I had a problem when I want to just turn a light ON, and not have it RAMP UP to 100%... This created some issues with my alarm scripts as well....

So, my question is this... what is the proper configuration for these new (2007-08) switches in homeseer? Dim control seems to not function out of homeseer properly, and I'm concerned about how they will "ramp up and down" during an alarm sequence that is sending all lights on/all lights off...Am I just out of luck with them and have to accept it or what? I've not really seen a whole lot of useful info on the web about homeseer and these switches, only activehome pro...

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ! ;)

I don't use Homeseer but this data from X10 may give you some information on how they now work.

You know, I had read this earlier... I tried changing homeseer to send the extended dim commands, and then I realized that maybe it is the fault of the powerlinc usb device I'm using with homeseer... I didn't realize that this device doesnt send extended dim codes...

I am getting a cm11a device in a few days and I'm going to see if that solves my problems.

Does anyone know if the newer xpdi3's are two way devices that show status??

The new "Soft start" units (XPDI3's Included) are one way only - no status.

Your "all lights on/off" sequence may be problematic if you are using the X10 command (all lights on/units off). The all lights on will activate both the soft start and the resume dim features of the switch. If this is a macro command, the extended code direct dim will get you around this.

Be advised that some repeaters will not be able to recognize the extended codes. I'm using a Leviton HCA02 which does work with the extended codes. Not sure about others (no direct experience).

I've got a repeater/amplifier through the dryer wall jack right now, so I'll take a look at what model it is when I get home. Also, my alarm script is one that I got off the homeseer forums, I can paste it when I get home as well... I'm really hoping I can make it all work with minimal changes.
