Xantech Sony Receiver IR issue

I just installed a simple IR setup in a room - 291-80 receiver wired to a powered connecting block and emitters. All brand new with a Xantech regulated power supply. I have four components in the setup, three of which work perfectly, one that does not. The one that doesn't work is a basic Sony receiver (STRDG-720). I see the talkback light flashing nice and bright when I point the remote at it, and the same with the talkback light on the emitter. But the receiver does nothing. When I point the remote directly at the receiver it works fine. I see that there is an adjustment on the 291-80 for carrier frequency. I have tried this but I can't find out what the Sony receiver carrier frequency is (if it is not 38 Khz) so I am shooting in the dark. Any advice? Thanks.

If I recall correctly, the sony receivers have 2 IR channels, one is sony specific and the other is "generic."

You have to use the sony remote to change between the two. Here's a hint...

It may not be that, but hey...

Thanks, the link you provided caused me to do some more digging and I found the issue. It is the emitter. I changed the emitter and it is working fine. I think the emitter I switched to is an OEM Xantech, but I can't be sure because I have a large box of them. But apparently the emitters do make a difference.
