ZigBee device compatibility

On the HAI web site, in the FAQ area, it says that an Omni Pro II with an HAI ZIM will support all locks and load devices supporting the ZigBee Home Automation Profile. I purchased a ZigBee HA Certified product from Smartenit, a 15A plug, model ZBMPlug15. It is just a simple on/off load, which according to your web site is in fact supported.

When I use PC Access to Enroll the device, it returns with a "Unsupported Device" error. If I use the ZIM to Enroll the device, it IS found but it is reported back as a "lock" and as soon as I Enroll it, it disappears and doesn't show up again. If i take the ZigBee address that the ZIM displays, and manually enter it into PC Access, sure enough the panel can control the plug and get back its status as it should.

So why am I getting this error, and why can the ZIM see the device but not PC Access?

Ano,
What version is your ZIM (device and radio version please). The ZIM attempts to automatically classify a device that is trying to enroll as a "Load", "Lock", "Thermostat" etc. There are several ways to design a "Load" and it seems like your load was designed in a such a way the ZIM was unable to automatically pigeon hole the device. This is something that is improved with every released firmware (adding more combinations of what a "Load" is), so I would recommend updating to the latest firmware.

Please respond back if the latest version of the ZIM is still unable to recognize this "Load" and I will look into it further.

Hi Ryan:

Thanks for your help. Again. OK I have 3.10A Omni Pro II FW and V14.23

So I did get it to work, but indirectly. I disconnected the ZIM, paired it with the ZIM, wrote down the address, entered in PC Access. Now the plug works great. Much better than my locks. (See other post. )
