5.7e Beeps

I've been fooling around with getting beeping disabled/enabled on my consoles and noticed that the 5.7e doesn't beep on entry/exit. Under arming I have everything
set to yes for beeps/etc.

Is there some other setup I need to do for the 5.7e to get this working? Is the 5.7e capable of using voice messages like I have on the consoles with built in speakers?

Make sure the "Sounder" setting is set to "On" in the screen setup. To enter setup mode, press and hold a blank area on the screen for five seconds.

I just got to checking this and the sounder is "On". The volume is set to 75. However it doesn't beep or speak. I have a console with speaker (and voice module)
that works great (beeps, programmed to say "door open", etc.

Any other thoughts on what could be causing this problem?

I vaguely recall that on my system, when I changed the beep on entry/exit parameter, the setting didn't "take" until I reset the controller.

gopsu,

For entry/exit and perimeter chiming to work on the 5.7e, you need to update your 5.7e and controller firmware. The latest firmware version is 1.0.2.53 for the 5.7e and 3.2d for the controller.

Ok, I'll get it updated tonight. Does the 5.7e support speaking as well as chiming? (i.e. "Door Open", etc)

I updated the firmware/etc and the beeps work now on the 5.7e. One problem though. I have a couple of buttons that when hit disable beeps on all consoles (i.e. nap button, etc).

It doesn't disable the beeps on the 5.7e. Is there another 'action' that I need to set up in PC Access for the beep control on the 5.7e?

Currently, the 5.7e doesn't respond to "console beeper" commands since it isn't a console on the console bus. We plan to add actions to the 5.7e to enable/disable the beeper on the 5.7e. Once this is done, you'll be able to have the 5.7e trigger these actions when you run your buttons. To enable/disable the beeper from the 5.7e itself, you'll need to use Automation Studio to add a couple of buttons to a page to trigger the actions.
