Adding CCTVs to ElkRM

I want to add CCTVs to my system. I feel that the DVR is a better option than IP cameras. Would that statement be supported here? I want to add 4 - 16 cameras. Is it recommended to go for a DVR supported by ElkRM? I would think so because then TS07 can be used to view cameras. I there more reasons to get a DVR that is compatible with ElkRM? I tried to get my hands on a DVR supported by ElkRM, but my local supplier informed me that those models are really old. What it the best/cost effective DVR you guys are using.

I can get both of the listed DVRs without trouble, they are not old.

I forgot that ElkRM & the TS07 supported DVRs. What can you do to the DVR from the TS07? Can you rewind, etc? Or is it just the live video feed and no real control?
