Cable Management Hooks/D-Rings

Anyone know where to buy 'Distribution Rings/D-Rings' aka 'Cable Hooks'?

I need to support some cable in my attic, and this seems like a decent option.

I considered zip ties and velcro.

Mike Sandman

Thanks, all.

Those J-hooks are expensive. Looking for cheap plastic.

Local electric supply house isn't very friendly, but I'll try it.

I looked over Sandman's flier this AM - I forget where I saw it posted. Neat stuff!

Edit - I remember it was linked in a wax string pull thread, i.e. 'Where can I get that wax string? We're almost out, and the guys who first ordered it years ago are gone from the company.' :o

I just use cheap conduit clamps like these. They are available at your local HD or Lowes. They come in different sizes. Here is an example of them in use cleaning up an existing mess.

I got these for something like $1/each at Home Depot. They're metal, and are nice & wide so they can hold crap-tons of wire. I have *much* more wire on it now, that pic was taken after I had them first up.

The look of those is close to perfect - nice and wide, open side, and the price seems lower than I've seen elsewhere. Any idea of the original purpose of those, so I can find them?

The 'closed' D rings look slightly more difficult to manage.

How many do you need approximately? I have a bunch left over from wiring my house which are no longer needed.

Are they similar to any that hav been posted? Any chance you're near Middle TN? :o I guess that's the problem with relatively inexpensive items like this. If they're metal, it would probably cost more to send them, than to buy locally.

In the storage organizer area... pegboard hooks, rake/shovel racks, parts bins. They should be available in square, flat bottom ones like these and round bottomed ones. Lots of people hang bikes from them.

Neurorad - I have seen these sold as "Storage Hangars" . IMO They are designed to be used as generic hook / hangars. Having a screw-like end made for twisting into a stud.
You might find them near the storage / shelving section of Home Depot / Lowes or maybe even Walmart / Target.

I'm with Steve...I used nails, and zip ties to initially hold bundles together, and then when it was time to cleanup, I used all different sizes of the conduit clamps. True, it's a pain to add wires to it later, but given how much wiring I did, I really didn't expect that to be an issue.

Famous last words. No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Bring out...the comfy chair!

Since I'll be adding cables continuously over the next 30-odd years, I'm leaning away from the 'D' rings.

Terminated my first cat6 cable today. Different, but really the same.

Where to buy more cat6 connectors? HD ~$7/EA!.
