GamePort Monitor ***BETA***

Well... I tried it the other night and it doesn't look hopeful. For some reason, even if HS2 is running when I start the gameport application it attempts to start HomeSeer 1.7. If I close 1.7 after it starts, then as soon as the gameport application senses a change and tries to update homeseer it just crashes.

::sigh:: now I need to determine just how important the gameport application is and whether I want to keep running HS2 without it.

I tried doing a 'remote' reference, but no luck. However, I did confirm that I finished the 'execute command' functionality in the latest version, so I can't imagine why it wouldn't work. Try it, apply & save, and see if it works.

It's possible that I don't have the latest version for some reason, so I'll try to download it again to make sure. I'm also playing around a bit with the plugin you referenced earlier which seems to work (with a few wierd issues) in HS 2. Hopefully one way or the other I'll be able to get everything going soon:)

Thanks again,
Brett

just downloaded the gameport monitor to play around with. when i start it i get this error message:

Run-time error '429':
Activex component can't create object

this is on a new install of win2k w/ SP4. any hints?

ah that's probably why, this app is still in Beta, I never removed the Homeseer activex reference, which is why you get this error. I haven't had much time to continue work on this project, since I have been so busy with other things, but it is pretty high on the list.

I totallly forgot about this (had so much going on), but I did get a chance to reinstall my dev environment, so I will take a look at it asap. Thanks for the reminder!

Here is a new version, with support for Homeseer removed. I haven't changed anything else, so I can't tell if things still work, but hopefully you can test it out for me :o

i loaded it up and configured everything. i can execute apps when i click simulate button presses. i've connected a joystick to it and it does see my joystick but when i click any of the buttons, the app doesn't see the button presses. when i go into control panel, i can see my joystick is there & i can press buttons & the config app recognizes button presses so i'm not sure why your app doesn't see it... any thoughts?
